Piper 24-250 Comanche
I fly Piper 24-250 Comanche using FSX add-on made by A2A Simulations.
Comanche is a single engine piston plane cruising at 150-160 knots. Capable of carrying four passengers in this trip it will carry just 2 together with 177 kilos of baggage, most important spares and survival equipment. You can check the manifest and weight & balance calculations below. At this payload (317 kilos / 700 pounds) I will be able to fill all the tanks which will give me a theoretical range of 1400 nautical miles – enough for any ocean crossing I planned.
Circumnavigation
I fly around the world in western direction from Palm Springs (KPSP).
The exact route is not yet known, but my intention is to fly to the north – first to Alaska, then across the Bering Strait and down to Japan. Then through Taiwan and probably Vietnam to India and Arabian Peninsula.
I am not sure whether I will then proceed to Europe and take a northern route (British Islands, Iceland, Greenland, Canada) or cross Africa and try crossing Southern Atlantic between Cabo Verde and Brazil.
